F150: 5.0 V8 vs 3.5 Ecoboost

For the F-150 guys that have owned both engines what are some pros and cons to them and how to they compare?
I've been driving a 2012 Platinum 3.5 and to be honest I've been pleased with the amount of power it has (MPG's suck). Turbo lag hasn't be a big inconvenience and I just kind of got used to it but I absolutely love the get up and go it has. My only complaint is needing to change the spark plugs every 50k miles and you can really feel the difference with new ones.
How does the 3.5 compare to the 5.0 as far as power?

I have this motor and it has plenty of power for what I need. It will tow between 7500-8500 lbs depending on which axle ratio you have. I get roughly 18.5/city and 23.5/highway if you believe the computer.

Do yourself a favor and look at the turbo diesel in the F-150. My 2019 is averaging 25mpg. I have been pleasantly surprised by it. It's got the same 10-speed transmission as the other trucks in the F-150 lineup.

Why can I not type today....
Anyway, mine is 2018. Every time I put the fuel economy screen up while on interstate, it’ll read like 27.5, but by the time I get where I’m going with traffic, lights, etc, it’ll drop.

There is a way to adjust the "lie-o-meter" so it is more accurate. It's just a Google away
ETA: How disappointed are you right now realizing you're probably getting 6-7 less mpg than you thought?

The V8 offers a lot of power, at easy predictable levels on the rpm range. Not saying it's better, but it is a more basic setup. For the folks that like a nice platinum or similar high level truck and keep every 3-4 years, the ecoboost is a nice choice. If you might own it for 10 years in the company fleet or pass down to family or other employee, I like the V8. I don't think there's a bad route, mainly just preference.

I’ll check again, maybe I’m mistaken. Should I keep actual records so I can report back in case my computer is lying to me, or are we uniformly reporting what the HUD reports? LOL

3.5 ecoboost is the best gas engine i've ever owned.

Mac, does it use the OBD2 programmers? I got one to turn off the auto-shutoff “feature”, and to be able to use navigation while driving.
BTW, one thing about Ford’s Sync3 that pisses me off to no end... if there is a passenger in the front passenger seat, FFS, don’t disable navigation key usage.
