Now, had you left out “true” we could assume you were writing figuratively; you knew it didn’t actually qualify as a pyrrhic victory; but you were using hyperbole.

No. A Pyrrhic victory means the result came at too great a cost, and thus was not worth it.
If it were a true Pyrrhic victory, then we would prefer to have lost to Vanderbilt and kept our players healthy.
That’s not the case.
