Interestingly, charter schools should be Selects, right? I mean they do not have a true attendance zone like public schools, and students have to test-in or meet admissions criteria, yes?

Is not Byrd in Caddo Parish a charter and playing select? Why do L/W, Karr, and Warren Easton get classified as non-select?

Things that make you go hmmmm.

If a charter doesn't have open enrollment, it's a select school.

L/W, Karr, and Easton have open enrollment. They are non-select.

By open enrollment, I mean you don't have to test or meet any special rules. You just have to make it through the OneApp lottery.

Those schools were opposed to the split, they were originally place in the non select division.

I'll give credit to Karr's then principal, John Hiser, he said separate but equal is bullshite. Karr is now an open access public school, prior to Katrina it was a magnet school, if place in select division we will sue the LHSAA. The legal opinions the LHSAA received weren't favorable, so the open access charter schools were moved to the non-select division.
