So you guys want him because our secondary is suspect, yet the Dolphins just made Lamar Jackson look like Peyton Manning and got burnt badly by a rookie receiver? Hmm okay then.

They are using him out of position. He has the potential and the skillset to improve our D. It is not worth a first however. Maybe a 2nd.

Minka's excellent as a slot corner. Trading for him would mean less PJ. Do it Loomis!

I’d give up PJ or Prob + 2nd or 3rd for him, he’s a beast and still on rookie deal

I would seriously look into acquiring FS/slot cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick away from the Miami Dolphins.
He’s like another coach on the field, excellent in coverage-he’s a tough dude in run support.
Also a leader and a mentally tough young man. He sees the train wreck in Miami.

From sportrac:

Trading Minkah Fitzpatrick:

Leaves behind $7.6M of dead cap to the #Dolphins ($2.65M in 2019, $5.02M in 2020).

New team acquires him at cap & cash hits of $1M, $1.9M, $2.7M, all fully guaranteed.

Miami would clear $1M of space in 2019, losing $535k in 20

This is like saying you wouldnt want Cam Jordan because the defense was historically bad years ago.

Good players play on bad defenses as well.

We don't have a 2nd. Miami already owns it.

and think of it from Fitzpatrick's position... go from the shite-tastic Dolphins to a true contender in the Saints

I imagine he will be in high demand and could cause a bidding war. May be tough for Saints to get in on this one.

Dude is a really good player. I don't think the Saints have the capital to make a move for him though. They'd have to offer a player + pick and I don't think Miami is interested in players. They seem interested in completely gutting the roster while acquiring picks, and then just starting over with Tua, or whomever they target, next year.
