If you are looking into buying one.....

For the price. I'd spend a little more and go to a Smith & Wesson Shield.

Can be purchased with or without a safety.
Available in 9mm and 40sw

I own one. Stays in truck, never really gets cleaned. Never had had an issue with it. Paid $265 for it brand new on sale at academy.

Just my .02 cents.

That's nearly twice the price of a Hi Point, and while you haven't had problems, I've heard of quite a few that have. I'm on the S&W forums too, and a lot of people bitch about things. Plus, there's that warranty- S&W claims lifetime too, up until they decide not to. Look at the 3rd Gen owners' comments about getting service.

And btw, all the ghetto-banger comments are a little off-base and out-dated. I go to a range that includes quite a few folks that have difficulty with the belt concept , and I'm not seeing Hi Points. I'm seeing a shite-ton of Krinkovs and other AK pistols... them fellas be slinging a lot of 7.62x39 downrange.
