For the record, this was the first away game I’ve ever been to where where not ONE SINGLE opposing fan said anything overly “negative” or “derogatory” to me and my group of LSU buddies. and I’ve been to many many LSU away games so I’ve definitely seen some shitty opposing fans over the years. We got to Austin Wednesday night, went out to dinner and out pretty much every night so were constantly surrounded by Texas fans a lot, tailgated all day Saturday in the middle of tons of Texas fans by LBJ library, sat in the endzone in the middle of all Texas fans, and never received anything but nice welcoming Texas fans and the occasional “fun-natured” ribbing. And LOTS of well-wishes and “we’re rooting for y’all the rest of the way” after the game. And oh by the way many many allies on The Texas side in our disdain for Alabama.

I know some are not happy about the visitor ticket allotment, LSU band location, and locker room A/C etc, but I just want to at least point out my personal Texas experience above.

I plan on reciprocating that next season. My group will absolutely be welcoming Texas fans to Baton Rouge and LSU in 2020. We’re absolutely gonna kick their arse on the field (hopefully) and I’ll absolutely be “Tigerbaitin” them endlessly and turning the A/C to 80 in good fun and giving plenty of horns down signs, but We will do our part in showcasing to Texas fans the best LSU has to offer in terms of tailgating, Gameday experience, and a courteous welcoming host.

Proud of our Tigers, what a damn game for us to all be proud of, absolutely one of the better road trips I’ve been on. Life is good in Tiger nation this week.

Despite what you may think or have heard based on our experiences with Texas A&M and their fans, Texas fans have no ill-will towards LSU at all ... quite the opposite actually.

Geaux Tigers!!

Lol no, he’s still locked in that PA booth trying to figure out what happened on 3rd and 17.

After reading all of that self-glorification I can tell that I wouldn't like you IRL

No offense, but I can tell you didn’t read post.

And if you did read and got “self glorification” out of that, not sure what to tell you... Don’t really care what you think of me...The OP is about Texas fans and I stand by it and meant it. Their fans were good and nice hosts even after we broke their heart in the biggest home game they’ve had in years.

While I agree that the hate for *all Texas fans* is a bit overplayed here (shocker). I will say that with the amount of Orange in that stadium, and alcohol flowing...

I have no doubt that there were a-hole Texas fans that acted like shite towards our fans. It wasn’t everywhere, and certainly not the norm, but it did happen. That being said, *some* of our fans do that shite too after a long day of drinking.

It’s not school specific and it’s certainly a part of college football. Bottom line, don’t be dicks to opposing fans, unless they’re asking for it.

I saw a good bit of racism in the stands aimed at us. Beyond that nothing was unexpected

I was told “frick LSU” two times walking around campus Friday. One dude was literally hanging out of his car window.

Horn fans were into their team big time and mainly indifferent to us, but not offensive except for booing injured players. Great experience. The “minister of Culture” is a douche and sore loser.

I met a lot of nice Texas fans BUT ONE huge a-hole

We bought 2 very expensive seats from a scalper on the street and he kept asking me, throughout the whole game if I bought those seats

I can’t repeat the exact tone and each word but he was very angry and pissed off we were in his section

Are you OK. Do you need a therapy dog or a safe space to emotionally recover in?

UT has transcended football and are on a higher level than LSU. We are still stuck in a lower level of evolution. We are easily 3 decades behind.

......and, for the record, the Texas AD stuck our team in an oven they call the visitors locker room. Granted I'll cut the Texas fans some slack, but that trick the Texas AD played with the locker room was hitting below the belt.

I firmly believe the lack of A/C at half-time (plus that 19 play Texas drive) was a "contributing factor" to the cramping problem.

I sure hope LSU pays Texas back in kind next season. But then most likely the NCAA will sanction LSU.

They are some of the best fans out there. Good people.

In my opinion nobody should blame the fans for the bush league moves that UT did for this game. The problem doesn’t rest on the fans shoulders. The problem is with their university

Exactly and they’ve been doing it for years. There were threads on here last season talking about how West Virginia and/or USC band/fans had to do the same. LSU people need to quit feeling so singled out.
