Anybody know if one sideline gets an advantage with the shade?

Texas will have shade before LSU as they are on the west side with the larger upper deck

You don’t think the home team factors this into their decision of which side they will be on?

Yes, unless the sidelines face north and south instead of east and west.

I'm pretty sure both teams had shade last week and that game started at the same time. It'll be a non factor
