Per Adam Schefter...
Cowboy and OT La’el Collins reached agreement on a five-year contract extension that ties him to Dallas for the next six seasons, per source. It will make Collins one of the NFL’s five-highest paid RTs.

Piss off. They gave him as much money as the league allowed them to.

Probably one of the best Free agents ever taken. I am sure there were more but we all know he had first round talent but got screwed on draft day. La'el earned it

it's a business, baw, somebody was going to sign him, financially he won't have been impacted much, if at all, about the only thing is, at the end of his career he won't be able to say he was a first or second rounder, I'd rather have the money

ow does that change the fact that the Cowturds benefited from it?

quote:Jerry Jones sat on the committee that made sure Collins couldn't withdraw from the draft and enter the supplemental draft. I'd say that is collusion among the teams and an anti-trust violation and Jones financially benefited from it.

Collins was forecast to be a top 15 draft pick. His new agreement puts him back on track where the 33rd pick would have been.
The difference in pay between a 15th pick and a 33rd pick is significant. He may be getting better money now, but he still is not getting what he should have, so yes, the Cowturds benefited from it.
