Some Observations (for what its worth)

- Maybe the most crisp I've seen LSU ever, great start to the season
- Burrow looked great, but no pressure at all in the pocket, next week will be more of a +test
- Brennan is never going to be a good #1, but he is a decent backup... he'll never beat Bama... LSU needs to find a solution for next year and beyond
- Offense looked sharp and organized but the real test is next week
- Special teams looks good, having a real punt returner is a welcome
- D looks solid to good, but that was such a limited test because of the run focus of the other team... hard to tell
- I think the second string of DLs will eventually be better than the first string as a group... Farrell > Logan
- LBs is about right (Phillips #6, Clark #35) looked real good... Queen should be first off the bench. Chaisson didn't look bad, but next week will give him more opportunities.
- Weak link in the LSU D, opposite OLB.... Anthony is serviceable at best, Thornton is the worst player on the D... he is a huge liability when on the field. Divinity is serveable to me and better than the other two, but to me he is average... maybe he will be back next week.
- Stevens #3 continues to impress down in the box area, its just a matter of finding a niche for him.... great tackler though.... they need to find ways of keeping him on the field.
- Moss looked good, the game did not see to big for him... Pettigrew not so much.
- Carter #44 is the best blocker on the team, he wasn't in their much... but as soon as he is in there... there are magically running lanes... he takes his man 10-20 feet out of the play.
- OL did good but not much of a test, Wire and Rosenthal are huge and athletic... future is bright at OT, although Rosenthal missed a guy.
- WRs as a group are top 3 in the nation.... no problem with that group.
- CB/Ss really weren't tested
- RBs did their job, but the running lanes weren't really there... Curry finally had some good runs, I always think he has bad luck with holding penalties when he gets good runs.

I agree that Brennan looked disappointing. Off target. Time will tell.

He's an average SEC OLB, at least last year. Thornton is just bad, if you specifically watch Thornton... he shouldn't be on the field... most of the OLB I don't really like Chaisson looked decent as a freshman, and did fine last night... as a group they are weak sauce.
Weak point of the team to me is OLB especially opposite of Chaisson.

Brennan will NEVER BE A STSRTER AT LSU

Divinity had the most QB pressures of any returning player in the SEC by 7.
Led the team in sacks last year and was 2nd in TFL
but yea he was average lol

Chaisson didn’t look bad???? Dude you need to sharpen up before you post!
Stop worrying about Brennan he’s got plenty time to mature and improve

Michael Divinity checked in at No. 47 overall as an edge rusher.
Seems pretty good to me

He damn near killed two dudes and didn't have much of a chance to pass rush

I’m not going to say Brennan can’t be a good #1...some people really don’t get how much players improve with live game reps. He will get plenty of opportunities to run this offense this year and will get better

Sacks and pressures are only one thing, I thought he was average.
yes, everyone is great which is why LSU lost 3 games, not everyone is great.

I’ve always said that without injury Brennan will never be the starter, usually to multiple downvotes. Just how I feel.

Divinity only applied more QB pressures last year than any other edge rusher in the SEC

I agree the kid is just not good, I’m tired of hearing about his quick release, what good is a quick release if you’re inaccurate and never look comfortable
Better hope Parrish or Finley come in and can do better

Well, someone has to be average because LSU didn't have the best defense last year... so who was average or below average? It has to be someone?

Divinity was awesome last year, especially when they turned him loose rushing the passer about midway through the season. He clearly found his niche. It's not really arguable.
