What’s your ideal road trip vehicle?

I ain’t talking operator baw baller money. I’m talking what the 1% of us OT’ers can afford. NOLA-based, so it’s gotta survive potholes and floods. Maybe a high-clearance ark? What’s the smoothest ride under 40k? 1-2 people, but I’m fat.

Given my choice of vehicle to tour the US, it would be hard to beat the upcoming Audi RS6 avant
With all of your bullshite restrictions, I dont know...Honda Pilot might work.

Last road trip was in a Toyota Highlander with 2 (sometimes 3) adults and a toddler for two weeks. Plenty of room even counting all the toddler stuff and decent mpg. Would recommend.

Prefer my motorcycle if traveling alone, but I do have a Chevy Silverado pickup that I also use, especially if needing to carry more than a motorcycle can handle.

80 Series Land Cruiser. You can go anywhere you want and carry the family along.

Been all over the US in my SWB ‘06 Jeep Wrangler. Still going strong. Getting close to 200K.
Inline 6 hard to beat. Rides . . . like a Jeep.
Bought it new before the craze. $16.5K TTL

Nothing comes close to a mini van

Spend a little bit more and get a suburban, Tahoe if you only have one child.
I missed the 1-2 person part. Pretty much anything will do in that case.

Just how fat?
Smoothest ride under 40K, dodge potholes, floods?
Maybe a loaded AWD 2018 Alfa Stelvio. Just don´t keep it more than two or three years.
