What part of this do you disagree with?

What concerns me most as a military man is not our external adversaries; it is our internal divisiveness. We are dividing into hostile tribes cheering against each other, fueled by emotion and a mutual disdain that jeopardizes our future, instead of rediscovering our common ground and finding solutions.

All Americans need to recognize that our democracy is an experiment—and one that can be reversed. We all know that we’re better than our current politics. Tribalism must not be allowed to destroy our experiment.

It sounds to me like he is attacking the democrat strategy of victimization based on sex or race.

Has no business ever being publicly recited by a military officer. In fact, they are forbidden from engaging on 'internal' conflict

"We all know that we’re better than our current politics. Tribalism must not be allowed to destroy our experiment."

This could have been written by Hillary Clinton; it's part of the leftist narrative that our CURRENT political landscape is the problem. When Obama was using the IRS as an attack dog everything was fine. When Eric Holder was in charge of the DOJ we were all lovey-dovey. It's Trump's fault that Veritas videoed democrat operatives bragging about breaking the law to get Hillary elected, and we should go back to civilized politics like when Clarence Thomas was nominated or George Bush wanted old people to eat dog food.

I can't read the entire article but if that's the tone it took I'm not interested; I can go to Reddit and read the same thing.

Most responses in this thread interpret the article one way. That "way" is different from your opinion and the way you interpret it. With that being said, if this General is unable to make a clear point, he needs to GTFO. Not sure how the troops he commanded would be able to determine what his orders were, or meant, without the ability to clearly write a statement. That's a pretty bad trait at his level.
