And for this simple reason only. If the back up QB goes into the game and takes a snap from center ( and the starter is not injured, the starter can NOT go back in the game). Period. It’s in the NFL rule book. If the starter gets benched, he’s benched.

I think the rule applies to the emergency 3rd qb not the #2.
