He should get ejected every time he does this. It’s so childish. A 35 yr old man throwing a tantrum.

I seriously think it’s hilarious. I’m sorry. Call me immature. But there is something awesome about his psychotic rage blended with apathy.

No argument with me it’s your opinion and I get it, but tell me why umpires are staring into dugouts antagonizing teams and managers. If a player or manager is up out of the dugout and in an umps face after a call yeah run them, but to go looking for reasons to eject people does a huge disservice to the game.

When some douchebag is making a racket, kinda hard to ignore it. Just sayin.

Dudes have done way louder and more destructive things in the dug out and not gotten run.

He’s like an autistic child throwing a tantrum. Because his parents don’t pay attention to him

Watched the game live on TV. Ump was clearly looking for trouble after a really bad third strike call. Just sayin'

Gardner did have a right to be mad to a point, that ump was calling strikes all over the place and he didn’t even look at the dugout when he tossed him.
But you’re right, Gardner looks like a petulant little child that didn’t get his way. Boone already argues every bad strike call and all the dugout tantrums isn’t gonna make the umps less willing to toss them again
EDIT: And as obvious as it was the ump was looking to throw them out, he still has a long way to go to match Angel Hernandez or Joe West. Those aholes think they the alphas out there

I can handle bad calls it’s happens an unfortunate part of the game. My issue is with umpires looking to toss people. If they aren’t in your face or showing you up on the field just tuck the ears in and call the game. If it’s from the dugout just let it go and keep the game moving. Hernandez and West are constantly looking for drama and that’s wrong.

Random thoughts, because this reminded me of some comments I read in the past.
Some tried to compare how football players display emotion like this and are thought of negatively. For example Odell.
I think the difference here is that baseball players showing this emotion are either pissed at the umpire’s call or at themselves.
Whereas with football if a dude is throwing a fit it can be because his team is pissing him off.. people don’t care if a football player is going off over officiating or because he dropped the ball. Just don’t show up your teammates.

A bad third strike? It was about an inch off the plate.

The one on Maybin was a horrible call and way off the plate, that is what got everything started.

It was well off the plate and Maybin just asked are you sure. The bench barked a little but the rookie ump kept staring into dugout just egging it on. Next batter was up in the box and pitcher was ready on the mound waiting for ump who just kept looking into dugout. None of it had to happen.
