Have an old Mustang, needs freon. Looking for R12 in New Orleans...

Not looking to handle myself, just a place that will fill up my AC unit with R12. Thanks.

Good luck with that. Only guys I know that still have r12 are commercial and home ac guys. Auto shops did away with that stuff years ago. Starting in 2020 if you have to get a recharge on your older home ac unit with r12 they you will be forced to buy a completely new unit. You can thank the EPA for that.

Just have them vac it out and recharge with r134

I have a cylinder of Dupont 12 but I live in Denham Springs. Also have the correct manifold gauge set for it.

I believe there is a conversion to r134a. Probably a kit you ca buy on Amazon

I will buy any R-12 if it’s worth my drive to you. I can go $250 for ever 20 pounds you have.

one thing to be cautioned about, back in the day R12 was very scarce and people were mixing it with propane. Propane cools way more efficiently that freon but if the system develops a leak and is near an ignition source then , well you know what happens. They actually made devices to test the pureness of R12

Check on A1-auto they have a replacement product called R350 and R69 depending on your needs.
