Trump has me worried on the 2nd Amendment

Anytime I see the words "common sense" linked with the 2nd Amendment I get worried. I hope he understands what's at stake and what he is doing.

i wouldnt worry about his word choice. words have no meaning to him.
i would think his total lack of consistency on this issue would have you worried though.

Yahoo just posted a headline 'Trump Injects NRA into Congress Debate on Guns.'
I guess the Dems haven't been talking about the NRA to this point.

That is sort of my point. One day he is Charlton Heston and the next he is more like Chuck Schumer.

A guy who has spent the vast majority of his life as a democrat has you worried about gun control?

I'll ask this question again:
What % of mainstream democrats (not the true loons, but the actual Dem party leaders) would consider supporting Trump "deranged" enough to justify removing guns from your house?
If they were being honest it would be at least 50%
Granting them this power is crazy...and it looks like we're about to do it.

Why?

“I like taking the guns early, like in this crazy man's case that just took place in Florida ... to go to court would have taken a long time,” Trump
...oh, right.

I hate to say it, but new laws will get passed... what I don't know,, but something will.

That would not be the worst outcome by any means. I would be fine with it if I knew we were not on a slippery slope.

And they won't affect one single person here. Nobody here will get their guns taken. Nobody here will be unable to purchase a gun they previously would have purchased. All this handwringing over what amounts to bluster and nothing else.

is it possible that he cares about the 2A/gun rights to the extent it can be a tool to solidify a voting bloc for political gain?

Sure, this is politics.

Perhaps you should focus on "well regulated," which is actually in the Second Amendment.

I may be wrong but I chalk it up to him being an urban yankee more than a political thing; I think he is solid on the Constitution, but has a little of “the 2nd A doesn’t mean a bazooka” mentality going on.

Yes, in relation to the militia. Please read the rest of it.

The good news is that Trump has stacked the court with justices that will overturn any law he signs to take people's guns away from them.
It's like some kind of weird failsafe against his idiocy.

Why would you ever be okay with further limiting constitutional rights?

Newsflash: it is. It will never ever stop.
