I went fishing a week ago and three of us limited out on reds and specks two days straight. This was my first trip of the year, but the other two guys fish there on a regular basis. They both said this was their best two days fishing all year.

I saw very little damage on the structures that you can drive to. An occasional shingle or a piece of siding missing. The flood gates did their job of holding back the surge.

The camps in the marsh west of Lake Decade is another story. I would say every camp elevated 4' or less had surge damage. A few structures were knocked off of there pilings. I saw very little damage on the structures elevated 15' or more. About 50-60% of camps had some dock/piling damage from minor to major.

You need to keep a sharp eye out when running in a boat, there is a lot of debris floating the water.
