That Mike Scott no-hitter

I was a FR at LSU in Power dorm. Afternoon game. I was listening on radio to Milo in dorm room with a Chemistry test upcoming

I kept waiting for a hit so I could leave. Knew the material cold. Long story short, listened to the whole game, hanging on every pitch.

Run to auditorium after, nobody there. Go to Dr Runnels office and knock on door. He says come in and I see the stack of scantrons. I explain to him the situation, and he looks like he’s seen a ghost. Silence.

He finally asks my SSN and looks up my other 2 test scores, 100 and 96. He tells me he’s gonna watch the sports segment of the news, and if this game really happened, I don’t have to take test, and he won’t count it in my final grade.

I bet those kind of professors are uncommon these days. I’ll never forget his name.
