Judgement is literally just a Yakuza game

I guess I was hoping for Yakuza's equivalent to LA Noir, but beat for beat, this is basically Yakuza 7.
The "detective elements" mostly boil down to moving around in a first person camera perspective until your analog stick rumbles, chasing minigames that play like Temple Run, and the dirt worst tailing missions I have ever played in a video game.
Outside of these elements (which are fairly brief), it's a bog standard Yakuza title.
That means it's a good game, but why pay $60 for this when you can get Kiwami 2 for a cheaper price?

new stories and new characters. it doesn't focus on kiryu which is a major part of yakuza

I’m probably going to get this game after I finish Kiwami 2 and 6. So far I’ve beaten 0 Kiwami, 3, 4, 5, Dead souls

Yeah, I was disappointed at the lack of detective elements in it. Still liked the story and some aspects, but you are right they needed to separate it a little more from it. Also, for a detective game rated Mature, it seemed it could've gone further and maintained that rating
I would still pay $60 for it as a new game because I love the Yakuza world, but hopefully they make a second one and learn from those mistakes.

Bummer. Has there been a decent detective game since LA Noire?
