Jury Convicted him of negligent homicide

WAFB

quote:

jury has decided Matthew Naquin is guilty of negligent homicide in the 2017 hazing death of fraternity pledge Max Gruver. The 6-person jury reached a verdict on Wednesday, July 17. Naquin faces a maximum sentence of fives years in prison. His sentencing will be set within the next 60 days, and his bond is set at $10,000. Prosecutors had also charged Naquin with obstruction of justice after he allegedly deleted hundreds of files from his cell phone less than an hour after a search warrant was issued for it. However, prosecutors said they won’t go forward on that charge until the negligent homicide case is resolved.

Ruined? No, he won’t be in there for long. And you and me have different ideas of how to party.

I liked to party in college. I didn’t like to force people to drink until death or near death so that they could call me brother

He’ll be a convicted felon with no college education when he finishes his prison stint. You think life will be easy for him after that?

Unfortunate situation all around.

The pledge kid died because of marijuana construction. It so happened that he was a shite pledge who got targeted in hazing rituals.

Naquin is not a bad kid. I feel for both families.

So did he force him to drink to his death? Seems like the kid that died made some bad decisions on his own.

You want to commit suicide. I give you a gun and say the only way I’ll be your friend is if you do it

I’m not guilty?

No, but he’ll have a life. You act like he’s getting a life sentence. That I would consider life ruined.

He was warned to ease up on the pledges and he refused. Then ordered a kid to take a 10s chug of everclear resulting in his death.

Could the kid just have said no thanks and walked away? The kid that died holds just as much responsibility. We are responsible for our own actions, not the guy next to us.

Better comparison would be “suck my dick if you want this job”. Then the “sucker” get Aids and dies.
