The drive from Anchorage to either Valdez or Fairbanks can't be matched anywhere.

I drove around quite a bit of Alaska just a couple of weeks ago.

I drove...

1. Anchorage to Seward (Seward Hwy.)
2. Anchorage to Glennallen (Glen Hwy.)
3. Glennallen to Valdez (South end of the Richardson Hwy.)
4. McCarthy Road throught Wrangell-St. Elias.
5. Glennallen to Tok (Tok Cutoff)
6. Tok to Delta Junction (Alaska Hwy.)
7. Delta Junction to Glenallen (North end of Richardson Hwy.)
8. Fairbanks to just inside the Arctic Circle (about a fourth of the Dalton Hwy.)
9. Fairbanks to Anchorage (Parks Hwy.)

The part I enjoyed the most was the southbound drive from Glenallen to Valdez on the Richardson Hwy.

But as beautiful as all of those roads are, I still think the Icefields Parkway that runs from Banff to Jasper in Canada is a little better.

Old denail highway from Cantwell to Paxson is prettiest ride I've been on so far in my time in Alaska.

Great spot for blueberries

Ive never been to Alaska but driving the Alcan Highway has been near the top of my List (hate the term bucket list) for several years now.. 1400 miles starting at Dawson Creek Canada, all the way to Fairbanks.. supposed to be some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet.. Now, if i can just find a spare month to make the drive from Texas and back...
