For those that are members, how well is the course maintained? Are many weekends taken up with tournaments shutting out member play? How easy is it to find a game? Thinking about joining but would like to get some current member opinions on things.

No you just can't get a tee time because of so much member play

Always in great shape when I play, it’s the best traveling handicap in Louisiana to have
awesome practice facilities, grill is good, pro shop is stocked, the weekends and impossible for members to get on because of tourneys and being crowded I’m not so sure of..... I enjoy the golf course every time I’ve played it, never ran into slow play, etc.

The only weekend tourneys are member tourneys besides 1 or maybe 2 per year for LSU and maybe 1 more for TAF or for an LGA event (both of which you could probably play in). Now they have tourneys on Mondays and sometimes Tuesdays during spring and fall, but no outside tourneys on weekends besides LSU or LGA related. Grill food is decent but service is terrible. Great members / really good players out there. Easy to find a game. It’s a golf club, not a country club. Overall service and catering to members is below average but course condition is usually really great

Just play it before you join and know what you are getting into. The course is very difficult and challenging. If that isn't something you are interested in, better to know that now then after you join.

I've heard this repeated on here, but never noticed it when I've played out there. I've played it twice this summer on Saturday's and it's been busy but by no means too packed to book a tee time.
Course has always been in great shape every time I've played it

Great shape and top level of difficulty.
You can get a tee time just fine if you call enough in advance and are good with an early morning round. I've never had trouble.

Course is well maintained, but is extremely difficult

I'll join with you if you pay my initiation fee

I emailed the head guy over there and he told me for the “single young professional” package, I had to pay like 8 grand in initiation fees, a monthly fee after that, and cart fees each time. No thanks. I haven’t paid 8k total my entire golfing life.

Unless they've gone up recently, initiation is $3500 or $4000...not $8k.

Jr. Membership under 35 is a one time initiation fee of $3500 or a payment of $4000 over 3 years or 35 whichever comes first.
