What map card do you guys suggest for a Lowrance HDI 7? Looking to cover the Louisiana coast. Thanks

New cards came out about a month ago with November, 2018 imagery. Call Front-to-Back (Trolling Motor Shop) in BR. They are a dealer.

It is very good and includes known "safe" routes through the marsh.

navionics & standard maps LA 1 premium

Standard mapping LA1 card. You can get one cheaper, like a google earth style card, but it won’t be as good.

I bought a SM card for my lowrance last summer. Do they release updates? How hard is it to go about updating?

If anyone is fishing the marsh, they should want the most recent satellite imagery they can get. All the subsidence makes sunken marsh look like open water. If they're fishing the spillway, not so big a deal.
