I'll mention a couple that haven't been stated yet because I like them both better than Highlands: Cafe DuPont and Satterfield's.
There a a dozen or more lunch spots depending on what you want. Saw's BBQ, Martin's BBQ, Rodney Scott's BBQ, El Bario, Nikki's West, etc, etc, etc...... Everyone should go to Nikki's at least once.

Both are very good, but I wouldn't say either is better than Highlands.
