"He'S OnLy PlaYeD 2 SumMeR LeAguE GaMes"
So far those games resulted in..
1) 4-18 with 10 pts
2) 3-15 for 8 pts and 8 TO's
He has more turnovers through these two games than field goals!
I get it. He has many more chances to show how he can't shoot, can't pass and display his arsenal of ways to turn the ball over.
Anyone who had any intelligence about what matters in today's modern NBA game could see this disaster coming. His shooting percentages from the 3 PT and FT in high school and college are horrendous. People saw "30 Pts" and just ignored he took 30 forced shots to get there.
Hell, anyone who put on Duke's tape last year could see he really didn't have any other moves to get to the basket besides running into defenders until he muscled his way to the basket throwing up prayers with his left hand.
I think the worst part is that the guy doesn't even include his teammates at all. You continually see guys get passed up for contested long 2 pointers
TLDR; this is essentially a player with the mindset of Russell Westbrook and the skillset of Andre Roberson
Sorry for the rant. Saw people comparing him to a future James Harden and I had to put this shite to rest.

I thought most of the MSB thought he was a bust

They can't all be Jaxson Hayes

That’s a bit much.
But it’s a smidge too early to be calling bust on a guy who hasn’t even played a minute of an actual NBA regular season game.

Summer league doesn't mean shite.

way too early, but i wasn't all that impressed with what i saw from him prior to the draft. (weird considering the records he broke, i know)

We talkin about Summer league. Not a game
Posted on 7/8/19 at 10:08 pm to OKtiger
I think RJ was super overrated and probably isn't a star.
But we're two summer league games in.

Can he play a real game first
Posted on 7/8/19 at 10:20 pm to OKtiger
Honest question has any All Star player played that bad in summer league games? We’ve seen guys play great in the summer league and never do anything in the NBA but have we seen a terrible player in the summer league play great in the NBA? RJ isn’t this bad but those numbers don’t inspire confidence if I’m a Knicks fan.

I dont think Morant has played and I haven't seen Culver, Hunter, or Garland but so far Hayes, Zion, and Colby White are going to be really good.

His style definitely doesn't fit.
I can see him improving his shot and being coached up to become a valuable piece in the next 3 years though.
He isn't quick enough to get by defenders and his shot off the dribble is as broke as my thermostat.

Wowzers.
Summer league game 2.
And he obviously has the authority to blast 18 times, which is how you get better and take the next step to becoming a superstar.
This is one of those threads that I will just kinda remember haha
