Saw a lot of soldiers and seaman marching as well as an AA marching bands and even a group of black young girls skipping rope....nobody was throwing any beads, wtf kind of parade was that? Every parade needs some beads....

I went to Athens, Georgia to watch the total eclipse a couple of years ago (100% worth it btw, I now understand why people travel all over the world to witness those things) and we were in a beautiful park. There was easily >20k people there. There was only a small area where someone was playing some music over a small PA system, and a few vendors selling tee shirts and popcorn and the like. It was nice ... but everyone in our group said “these people don’t know how to party/tailgate.” If that had been in South Louisiana then there would’ve been a few Cochon de Laits, BBQs out the wazoo, and enough alcohol to drown a Scotsman.

So, no, people outside of Cajun country don’t really know how to properly parade or party.

I will give you that sir. Having traveled to Red Stick to watch Bama take on the Tigers I was always on the edge of anticipation. It was just in the air, the festive nature, the yearned for victory and the excitement. All three times it was in vain. Once when Bryant was at the helm and twice under Stallings. But there is a genuine party atmosphere not to be found any place else.
