The gravel is gone.
When Chistian VanDeVelde filmed his piece a few weeks ago, riding the stage, he struggled mightily only able to make 6 mph up the climb. It is intense.
However they mentioned in the post-race coverage yesterday that in the last two weeks the road had been paved.
