I've been involved with too many communities that have been quarantined

This. Every time I post on the political board there, I get a minimum of 70-80 downvotes. Its like 95% psycho libtards. But I would say the overwhelming majority of reddit users are from California

And you are unable to defend your viewpoints because if you get a certain number of downvotes you are limited to being able to post only once every 10 minutes, so you get dogpiled and the place turns into an even bigger echo chamber

Once I had an account where I posted a bunch of left wing tropes to build up my karma to over 10,000, that way I would have a buffer and wouldn't be limited to posting once every 10 minutes.

It only took about an hour for my karma to go from over 10,000 to the negative and I was back to being limited to posting once every 10 minutes.

If it wasn’t 100% clear before, Reddit is now a Democratic Party affiliated website.

1. You have to subscribe to the subreddit to view it

2. You have to accept a warning disclaimer to enter the subreddit

3. It doesn't let you access it on the reddit app

4. It hides the subreddit from your list of subreddits, you have to manually type in the sub

5. It is hidden from reddit search results and /r/all

6. It doesn't show up in your post history

7. Advertisers aren't allowed to advertise on it

8. Custom CSS subreddit designs don't work as well

It seems to me that all of those except number 3. would be good things for a community, and some would help keep out the riff-raff who just want to throw turds.

And of course, this happens just hours before the first 2020 Democrat debate.

You can't really throw turds there. I haven't been on in ages, but if you don't post something most people agree with, 99% of the community won't see it. It's unlike here in that just because something is new doesn't mean it goes to the top

This.

Not a coincidence. The memes will be spread even worse now. These people really are stupid.

this is like the 100th attempt Reddit has tried to downplay the significance of that sub. Ive been following it since it was all Trump as Han Solo memes and shitposts about Hillary.

Its unreal the tactics they've tried to limit that place. Here is just a few I remember off the top of my head:

1) Lying about the member count
2) Throttling their posts. As in, the posts were so popular they would clog up r/all so they started messing with the algorithms to not let any posts from them get to the front page
3) That mysterious mod who tried to use the board to fundraise. That was super sketchy.
4) Shutting it down. Yeah they tried that a couple of times too. Not just once. Multiple.
5) Now this.

Im telling you, this will not work as intended. One of the reasons Trump won is that the youth looked on him as counterculture. Whats a really good way to enforce that? Keep doing shite like this. Its how Elvis, The Beatles, Rock and Roll in general, Gangsta Rap, etc got so popular.

I swear, some people never learn.

Even if you click continue into the quarantined sub from safari it won’t let you through just because you’re on a mobile device. I’ve sat here and clicked the button 100 times.

I had to go through a desktop browser I downloaded from the App Store.

This was Media Matters behind the scenes. It was all set up.

I despise The_Donald, but this can not be tolerated. You are a fricking idiot if think it’s a good idea to feed the crocodile hoping it will eat you last. The croc is still going to eat you. The action is shooting the croc in the head. We can not yield an inch.

I think the quarantine is less about the debates tonight and tomorrow and more about the Google "preventing another Trump" exposure

It's funny because throughout The_Donald's history its been filled with astroturfers pretending to be Trump supporters posting comments with violent rhetoric in order to get the sub banned and The_Donald mods have always been on top of it all.

Looks like this time it finally worked

Yet subs like ChapoTrapHouse which openly call for violence still stand strong

The_Donald will be done for this time next year. And where will they go then? Hopefully to places more like here, but I fear to places like 8Chan, which has actual genocidal monsters posting there in large form. This is dangerous as frick and how you get an actual Hitler in power.
