Anyone have good or bad experiences with Banner Chevrolet in New Orleans East? Purchased a vehicle from them Saturday b.c. the price was right, but everything else was odd.
Our friend bought a new Traverse from them about 3 months ago. She said it was an OK experience. Got a better deal there than any other the other local Chevy dealerships.
She did tell me about one odd thing. They went back and forth over a few days before they got the deal done. At some point, they were talking about financing and the salesman mentioned Keesler Federal CU. So at some point they went and talked to them and got approved for like a 2.79% rate. They go back at some point to Banner to finish the deal, never mention they talked to Keesler.
Eventually they get to the finance office, and one of the offers they presented was from Keesler, for 4.49%. They laughed, showed them the approval letter they had with the lower rate, and went with that.
I'm sure this happens at all dealerships though.

Sales manager didn't move 1 penny off the Internet price. I asked for $300 off so I can add a hitch. He said no. Asked for better tires on the back as they showed serious wear. He said no.
This seems to be more and more common especially on new vehicles. We have started shopping, and I have had two different salesmen - at two different dealerships - tell me that the internet price is the "absolute lowest" they will go on a used car. I did note that in every instance, the internet price was lower than the one on the sticker. I would imagine the longer the car sits on the lot, they may change their tune. Although, they did seem to be amenable to throwing certain things into the pot, but they would not even think about lowering the price.
