Just wondering if any of you live near or hear about Conway, AR, the location of the documentary.

That place looks like a hell hole. Felt real icky after watching it.

Meth is a frightening drug. People don't overdose, so you don't hear about it as much as you do opioids, but I believe it's an even bigger epidemic.

You can make any city in America look like a "hell hole" but the reality is if you aren't a drug user or a poor then you won't come across these people.

Someone here started a thread about some of his trashy friends having a trashy public Facebook feud about the groom leaving the wedding to go score some weed and the bride catching him tucking her friend in a garage or something. Anyway, he lives in Conway, Arkansas.

I believe it is a pretty small rural town. Everyone there knows everyone else kinda place.

The local cop knew about everyone he arrested during the Ice Storm effort. Many he has known his whole life.

No reason to be defensive on the hell hole comment.

"City" maybe. In southern small towns you cannot escape them. It may be a cousin, an old friend/neighbor gone off the rails, the person next to you at a gas station, etc... Contact with meth addicts will happen at some point just by sheer happenstance.

I’ve not seen this but Conway is not a bad “city” at all. I have to go by for work every now and again and it’s nice, relatively speaking.

Meth wise, I used to work criminal investigations and interviews for CAC in Arkansas. This fricking place is littered with meth.

Apparently Conway is where large shipments from Mexico come in for distribution.

I don't think I have even been to Conway and if I have it was just passing through but every town or city has addicts living in poverty. If your documentary is focused on them and where they live it's going to make any place look like shite.

We have some friends that live in Conway.

Not sure if they just live in the nice part of town, but it has never come off as any different than any other small town in the south to me

Most small towns in the south have nice areas and really shitty areas

I went to Conway 10 or 15 years ago. It seemed fine back then.

meth is a huge epidemic. laws need to be changed so that anyone caught dealing meth gets life in prison.

I would think that if it weren’t for UCA being there, then it’d no doubt be a shithole.

I lived in Conway for a summer...about ten years ago. It was a nice little town back then. Growing from the natural gas boom up there.

It's more like a suburb of Little Rock

Conway is probably like Fayetteville 20 years ago. And yeah it's basically all people that work in Little rock, not rural.

I’ve been there before. It’s not a shithole. I think there’s a college there too.
