Naz Reid should have stayed one more year

Some NBA mock drafts have Naz slipping to mid to late 2nd round. CBS Sports mock draft yesterday actually had Waters (#50) going before Reid (#54).
He could have improved multiple facets of his game under Wade next year, and significantly improved his stock to possibly move up to high first rounder in 2020 draft.
I think he will be a sleeper and absolute steal in the 2nd round (as well as Waters), but wonder if he's second guessing his decision to be a one and done.

Might as well get paid and not allegedly paid.

It will interesting to see what happens. I, and many others, have been outspoken in our belief that Naz was not NBA ready and would not be drafted anywhere in the first round.
Many on this board criticized us for not only being wrong, but for not knowing anything about basketball. They stated emphatically that Naz would not only be a first-rounder, but would be an almost certain lottery pick.
I guess we'll see who had a better bead on reality. If I was wrong I'll take my medicine.

I see both sides. Injury is what would scare me, especially for a big man. If he gets hurt, he’s not getting paid. If he gets taken in the 2nd round, he’ll at least have that plus some.

He was making bank with Willie Wiretap at the helm. Should have stayed another year.

I think He there are part of his game that he could have improved.
Waters isn’t gonna get taller so go.
But I do Think Reid could improve as a post player. He is good. People just couldn’t get over him not being Zion.

He absolutely should have returned, take P.J. Washington for example. He wasn’t ready. He went from a lottery “lock” to possibly being taken in the 2nd round. Absolutely should have stayed, but no chance he ever would have.

However, most just said he was always going to be a one and done, and that was true. Saying that doesn't = "he should go".

There is no certainty that his career earnings would be greater if he stayed. The risk of injury, fact that he was not going to get his degree(not going to be a 4 year player), and being able to improve much faster playing professionally likely played large parts in his decision. I don't know what the correct answer is for him. I think too many posters believe they know better than the kids, their families, coaches , and advisors. But , this is the rant !

Reminds me of basekeball.

He can get the same development from coaches geared towards getting players in the NBA over anything in the G league against better competition and get paid. Why is this so hard for people to understand?
Would have loved him to come back and get that development with the Tigers but I get why he left.

This shouldn’t be hard to understand there was ZERO (0) chance of Naz staying for year 2 it wasn’t even a possibility not like it was a 50/50 choice and he choose to go pro it was 100/0

Absolutely.
You could just see the potential... if he stayed till he was a junior he could be in the conversation for Wooden Award/1st overall
