Is there truly an uptown in Baton Rouge? I came across an ad in the Business Report where the Renaissance hotel was shown as being in the “Uptown” part of the city.

There needs to be an area designated with this title.

Of course there is.

Go into town, then go up. That's uptown.

It’s near the new BR Riverwalk, as I recall.

The renaissance and the mall will remain a part of Baton Rouge and not the proposed St. George

Nola did it right - you were just facing the wrong way.

False. Uptown is up-river from downtown (the cbd and French Quarter), hence the name.

In Baton Rouge, what is upriver of Downtown is Exxon and Southern, so there is no “Uptown” neighborhood. If it were ever to be gentrified, I would imagine the areas along Plank Road, especially by Tony’s Seafood, would be considered “Uptown”.

You're looking at it wrong. Uptown is up. Starts at the tenth floor.

This is correct. NBR is Uptown Baton Rouge.

In Houston “uptown” is west of downtown. All so confusing...

NOLA’s uptown is up river. Downtown is down river.
