AD can frick the Pelicans by getting the Lakers out of the lottery. They will be bench role players after the Lakers go deep in the playoffs.

It's all speculation now, but as I posted in another thread:

Yes. So the Pels would get (no idea on protection):

2019: #4
2020: swap rights (she specifically said that the Pels weren't interested in this pick outright)
2021: Lakers pick
2022: swap rights
2023: Lakers pick
2024: swap rights
2025: ???? Swap rights ????

Again, based on what Shelbourne said. And the organization of this trade if based on the Lakers's inability to trade consecutive 1st round picks, so there's some assumption on my part. For 2025, I'm combining Shelbourne's "control of Lakers picks for 7 years" and Woj's "Pels get this year's #4 and 2 additional Lakers's 1st round picks".

And also Ball and Ingram. The trade looks a lot better when you see the whole thing written down.

ETA: Based on the timing of the trade, we COULD have gotten the 2020 outright. But this scenario is the only one that I can think of that combines what Shelbourne and Woj said the compensation could be.
