I’d bet after the first tanker bombings we focused our military intelligence on the area - and we’ll probably have a pretty good idea whose responsible within the next 48 hrs.

This. Though most any way you cut it, it'll fall back in Iran's lap. Iran looks at it like if they can't sell their oil due to Sanctions...then they'll crash the oil market for all oil-dependent Nations. That would pressure the US to suspend Sanctions.

Of course, Iran will try to deny any attack, and even obfuscate by pointing to the Japanse PM's presence in Iran and the absurdity of attack on a shipment destined for Japan. They are cunning, but it won't fly with Trump. They best figure out a way to cut up those nukes/IBMs and cook em'.
