All one needs to do is what Germany beat the Argentina women 11-0 in the video I linked to see what normal behavior looks like when pounding the shite out of a team you are SUPPOSED to pound. Hell. They barely celebrated their first couple of goals.
Which, by the way is part of this too. It ain't like LSU playing Bama this fall and laying them out 52-7.
The US was SUPPOSED to beat the shite out of Thailand.

I should add that for me, one of the reasons I never celebrate a bunch when beating the shite out of someone I'm supposed to beat is simple.
It's not that worthy of celebrating. I used to play racquetball very competitively. Won or placed in tournaments regularly.
Occasionally, when playing lesser players, I would just completely dominate to the point that some were simply fortunate to return my serve at all.
I didn't fail to celebrate because I was being nice. I failed to celebrate because one tends to celebrate for accomplishing something.
Beating the shite out of someone you're supposed to beat the shite out of isn't really much of an accomplishment.

Good, let Germany stifle team morale. On the other hand, USA can use their celebrations to lift morale and use that as an advantage.

If Thailand is really that bad the other two teams in our group will curbstomp them like we did. The tiebreaker could end up being total goals and the team that held back goes home early.
