Thread started because some idiot (I me) had to.

TLDR: This movie was terrible, only go watch it if you are interested in seeing how bad a movie can be.

The good: Fassbender and McAvoy are good actors, and there's a nice scene with the two of them at the end.

The bad: Most of the rest. Characterization was inconsistent to terrible, the villain motivations were barely touched on and the X-group going from heroes to fugitives overnight was way too quick. What was the moral of this story supposed to be?

The ugly: Mystique should never have been that important of a long-term character, and unfortunately, Sansa Stark couldn't provide depth to Jean Grey -- so much so that I really didn't care at all about what was happening to her. The characters in this movie generally had the emotional stability of teenage girls.

I think you can enjoy this movie if look at it as a standalone movie. Forget about the other movies and comics. Mystique was really the only bad part of this movie.

The handling of Mystique in the newer X-Men movies is why I checked out on these a while ago.

The other characters trying to act like prof x was this monster because he tried to suppress a little girls memory of killing her mom was stupid

Overreaction, it's not great but it's not bad either.

Disclaimer: I enjoyed Apocalypse as well. People are expecting too much from comic movies.

End Game was mediocre at best, and is getting sucked off.

Sophie Turner is a terrible actress. She's been terrible on GoT for the past few years. She's completely wooden, she just reads her lines like a robot.

Believe it or not I actually thought she did a much better job when she was younger. Young Sansa actually showed emotion occasionally and came across way more interesting. As she got older she seemed to just get worse as an actress.

She has no charisma and is not a great actress, she has no future as a big time actress. She'll get small parts here and there going forward but it's over for her as a lead, at least in any movie with a budget.

If Hollywood can't make Emilia Clarke happen they sure as hell can't make Sophie Turner happen.

Watched it last night. Man, I do not understand why there's so much hate for this film. I thought it was a solid comic book film. I really enjoyed a lot of the action scenes. McAvoy and Fassbender remain some of the best casting in a comic book franchise.

Negatives, I would say Chastain's character is completely useless. Some of Jean Grey's acting was cringe. Overall though, I had a good time with it.

Finally saw this film.

I kept waiting for it to suck, it never did. Giving it a 21% RT score is ridiculous.

I suppose that if you’re an X-Men purist from the late 70’s, 80’s, you’d have your problems. But as an installment in this franchise full of great and horrible movies, it’s about average and a decent epilogue to the movie saga.

Being able to see the X-Men as actual superheroes was a nice change and a big smile. From there it became your average, entertaining superhero pic.

I’m glad that they didn’t end it with a complete letdown like Apocalypse.

Watched this last night.

This was nearly as terrible as The Last Stand. Just a bad film overall. From Turner's bad performance, to the absolute mangling of everything about the X-Men, just a total bust on all fronts. McAvoy and Fassbender were great as usual, but they had so little to do. The focus on Mystique as the core and everything around that, it ALL fell completely flat in the end. Why not just go with the Shi'ar? Dumb decision.

It's a good thing these films are over for the most part, outside of Mcavoy and Fassbender, I'm not sure there is anything I'd want to keep.

Why Fox can't get Cyclops (granted he was better than previous iterations, but still a bore overall), or any character outside of X/Magneto/Wolverine right, I'll never know.

Even Apocalypse had a few redeeming qualities, but not this one.

Finally watched it. I have had kinder opinions on the X-Men movies than most, but I didn't really care for this one. It was kind of ok, but really forgettable. Needs Wolverine. X-Men without Wolverine is like Lucky Charms without the marshmallows.

And now Quicksilver scene set to a cool song of the period? Stupid. They were set up for it and nothing. Dumb.

I don’t even remember if I saw this one. I know I started it once but stopped after 10-15 minutes. I also recently watched Captain Marvel. My brain being loaded with 2 forgettable movies has confused things I guess. I think I did watch it again and finish it but am honestly not certain.
