I'm in decent shape so on my 50th birthday, I decided to swim across False River (on a bet). There was light wind an zero current. Just measured my path on Google and it is 1907 feet.
Just measured STRAIGHT across from Algiers point and it is 2164 feet. Looks like her alleged path puts her closer to 2300 feet.
I doubt I could come close to that swim given the current.
