I just hope the game stays very faithful to the original story and dialog.
One way they could spoil it is by making the game aware of itself. They don't need to like artificially build up certain characters or moments. Also no need to constantly stop the game to show off new environments all fancy over and over again. Let the environments sort of speak for themselves without shoving them in your face.
The combat looks cool but there's so much going on on the screen I have no idea wtf is happening.

You can play it slower. Using the ATB freeze.
But I don’t see how the story won’t get that way. With it just being in Midgar they will be adding a lot of dialogue.

I feel like you're being a bit cynical. The plan from the original reveal was to flesh out the game with the budget and technology they have available to them. Midgar will be more opened up. More than half of the city is inaccessible in the original game.
With the expanded universe of games, movies, etc. there's more to the story than just the original game. I think it makes sense to include some of those things in the remake.
