I don't feel they are equally dangerous. I think the far-right is much smaller than the media wants us all to believe. I've never met or know of a single person who I'd consider "far-right." "Far-left" on the other hand, I know several. I also think the media has overblown how big this group is as well, though it's much bigger than the far right.
I used to call myself a moderate in college. Mainly because I didn't want to label myself and believed I can think for myself and vote based on my values...not someone else's. I guess I still am a moderate? Lately, I feel like I've grown further and further away from most leftist ideologies. They've just become too detached from reality.

How many of these guys are in congress? How many have their points of view amplified by major news publications? When is the last time you saw a Buzzfeed/Atlantic/Slate article entitled "Why The white ethno-state could be the solution we all need"? You never see that, because it is abhorrent and stupid.

This stuff is out there and just straight up does not get the push back that is afforded to the far right. There are numerous people near the levers of power who were actual members of the communist party. John Brennan, anyone? How many former skinheads have primetime cable shows? Elected to national office? None, and rightly so.
The cultural apparatuses of this country will destroy a Nazi, but not a Maoist. There is no argument to be made that the far left and far right pose equal threats.
