From an economic, societal, political, and geographical standpoint, what is the best state in the south?
My vote goes to North Carolina. Best all around eastern state IMO

Tennessee and Georgia are both doing very well. I prefer Tennessee.

If this is the criteria, Florida is the answer tbh

Texas economically. Easily.
Maybe the worst geographically though.
Honestly, I think it’s Florida. Insane beaches, good economy, melting pot socially in big cities. Etc.

I consider SE Texas to be but not the northern and western parts of it. State is just huge.

Texas without a doubt and Texas is just as southern as the rest of us

TX has a certain arrogance, lacking that (possibly fake) charm, of the Old South.
