I still remember my mom missing my baseball game so she could stay at home and watch it instead.
One of the best sitcoms of all time, far better than most of the crap on TV these days.

Are we suppose to come in here and say how old we are?

Top 5 sitcom for me

Did not age well. I watched it as a kid...I feel bad now for making my parents sit through that. Roseanne and Married With Children were way better.

Easy to forget that Tim Allen ruled the mid to late 90s.. Home Improvement, the Santa Claus, and Toy Story.

Disagree, we have a channel here in San Diego that shows Home Improvement episodes every morning from 8am to 10am so I watch it at work every day. Has aged very well

I didn't watch the last few seasons. It got bad as the kids got older. The one kid went all goth emo, and was pretty weird irl. It turned into too much of a drama.

Watched a few episodes the other night on Laff, it hasn't aged well and not nearly as funny as I remembered.

How hasn’t it aged well? Honestly, what’s the criteria for aging well once you’ve been off air for 20 plus years?

I think people forget how this show crushed it in the ratings. And how Seinfeld had to keep moving to a different day because they knew they couldn't compete with Home Improvement.
Tim was offered $50mil a season if the show were to continue.

I loved that show as a kid and still do

Not being funny is one. Some shows have been off the air for 40 years and they still remain funny.
Tim Taylor trying to be some manly man only to come off like a doofus isn't as endearing as it used to be. It's even worse when every man Tim encounters is better at doing things than he is.
I understand that's supposed to be Tim's character, but it's not really all that funny today.
Episodes in which Tim interacts with special guests are still memorable and Wilson's advice is always good for a laugh.
And Jill still a bitch

Its your typical family sitcom. I still enjoy it.

I recently discovered a channel that airs like 10 episodes of this a day. Dude plays the same character here as he does in that other show he’s in. Kind of a douche compensating for a small peen or something.
I don’t know how either of those characters hadn’t gotten his bell rung by his family/friends/coworkers

Seinfeld moved nights once, to take Cheers' place as the Thursday night anchor.
HI and Seinfeld did not start out in the same time slot. LINK
When Seinfeld did move to the half hour earlier, it moved UP in ratings to #25 to HI's #3. LINK
The next year Seinfeld was moved to Thursday night to take the anchor spot left by Cheers. Bumping it up to #3 (HI was at 2, they were neck and neck with ratings). LINK
The following year Seinfeld was #1, HI was #3, and had moved to Tuesdays to make room for Rosanne. Seinfeld and ER had both passed HI in ratings. LINK
Saying Home Improvement ran off Seinfeld is like saying the cast of ER was so good that George Clooney had to settle for a career as a major film star.

I don’t think so, Tac.

I wonder whatever happened to that mo Jonathan Taylor Thomas?

How does his new show compare to Home Improvement? I heard it more politically charged but havent seen it myself.
