He wasn't incredibly productive though. This is something people either ignored when he was here or have forgotten since he has left, because they can't get past the Reggie hype and their love for the player to see the truth. Here's the truth:

AYPC = 3.9 for his entire career here, but only 3.6, 3.7, 3.8 his first two. His final two years saw his carries cut in half each year (70 carries in '09 and 30 in '10). '10 was an injury year, but he was finally starting to find his game this year.


Still, 3.9 ypc is not good, and it's terrible for the #2 overall pick who was supposed to take the league by storm (to borrow a cliche).


Receiving numbers dropped every year he was here, with his first logging 88 receptions and his final 34.

He had 29 TDs in 5 years here (17 rushing, 12 receiving). That's 6/year. That's 2 less than Kamara who has been here only 2 years


Reggie never surpassed 600 yards rushing (586 his highest in year 2), and outside of his 742 receiving in his rookie year he never even touched 500 again.



So please, tell me again how he was not a bust? Show me the numbers that support anything about him being more than a solid player. Was he bad? Not really. He did have bad vision and missed many holes, but he also corrected this over the years. Other than that he was a solid to decent player who would break off a great play every once in a while.

The Myth of Reggie is now busted, just as he was a bust.
