Why is it the insurance companies themselves don't think it will make a difference let alone guarantee a rate reduction?

Um, they do. Obviously, you are talking out of your arse. They aren't going to reduce rates without the bill passing. Once it passes, rates will go down.

You want to know why your premiums are high? Because judges are awarding $50k to every piece of shite who claim their back hurts after a car wreck, and because lawyers like Gordon, Dudley Debosier, Gauter Amedee, act like clowns in the court room and make the insurance companies out to be the bad guys. Which is another thing this bill does, is prevent the trial attorneys from mentioning the insurance companies as defendents so they don't drum up sympathy from the jurors when the assclown trial lawyers say "state farm has plenty of money". Guess what, that money, is YOUR MONEY. So for every lawsuit they have to pay out, YOUR RATES GO UP.

If getting rid of direct action and collateral source are the only things that come from this, it would have a huge impact.

Yeah, right. 'Member when Mike Foster's tort reform lowered our insurance rates? I'm currently enjoying the lowest rates in the country!
