Before seeing the video I said I bet it was a liver shot, and it was.
That's probably the most painful shot you can take. That's what put Brock Lesnar down vs Overeem. A good shot to the liver will put down most men. No shame in crying about that.

Yes. But the difference is I as a recreational boxer knows better to even put myself in that position

Liver shot was Micky Ward’s knockout punch. Trust me your recreational boxing self would not be able to stop him from executing a brutal liver shot on you. He would pound your face so hard the moment you lifted your guard it would be over.

And as a "recreational" boxer, you know just about enough to know it's going to hurt like hell, but still not have the ability to stop it if a real boxer wants to hit you there.
A solid left hook to the liver is one of the most crippling body shots there is and the pain sometimes doesn't hit right away and you think you took it OK, but a few seconds later your legs just say "frick No, time to lay down."

A liver shot shuts your body down momentarily and is extremely painful
