The OP's cast iron 12 in pot costs $195 and a same size Lodge is around $25. I can't justify the price difference just because it's hexagonal.

You can buy a cheap angle grinder from Harbor Freight for $14 plus some grinding and sanding wheels for another $10. Even taking in to account the value of my time, it's a better deal to DIY a smooth skillet. I understand not everyone wants to do that, so I'm not knocking Jax for buying one. They do look pretty nice.
