In the sense that I am talking about them not mattering, they don't. In the sense that he is talking about them, they do.

You drop a few midweek games because you are working out pitchers who don't throw on the weekend, it's not a big deal. It is not going to hurt you at the end of the year.

You drop midweek games because your hitters decide not to give a shite, and look lazy and uninterested, that's a problem.
