quote:not sure what the hell the storied program part has to do with this particular season. And obviously injuries to some of our best pitchers doesnt count as part of the reason, right? Preseason is a ranking picked by some sportswriters. So what.
. Just consider what you just said. This team still has a chance to host regional, think about that comment. This team was preseason #1. The most storied program in SEC history and arguably a top 3 program in ncaa history
You act like teams in the 15-25 range cant win the championship in this sport

Preseason #1 my arse this team is underachieving and its the coaches fault.
It’s everyones fault. Every single person to put on a uniform has blame in this. FACT

Are you saying that the last few years when yall freaked out in march about losses was vindicated? Was it vindicated in 2016? 2017? If not, then “its early” in baseball is a legit excuse.

May is not early on college baseball. You're just embarrassing yourself at this point

Do you think people thought virginia as a 2 seed a few years ago with less than stellar pitching could win a title?
Posted on 5/7/19 at 10:53 pm to LNCHBOX
Im not saying may is early ratard, go back and read.

Less than stellar is way more than we have at the moment. Couple that with at best inconsistent bats, and this team is doing nothing. Pump sunshine all you want, we in the real world will not have crazy expectations

This is one of the top 10 most talented teams in the country, ill continue to believe they can win a title if they get henry back, if not, i wont
Posted on 5/7/19 at 10:55 pm to josh336
Which is it? Is it really hard to win a title? Or is it still a realistic potential for anybody? I can’t keep up any more.
Btw can Henry swing a bat?

Yep, and when close to healthy. Amazing how that excuse gets glossed over here

We're never healthy, so why bothering thinking about that?
Posted on 5/7/19 at 10:58 pm to josh336
So IF we don’t host a regional. And IF we don’t make it out of one, will you admit Paul did a really shitty job of coaching this year? I mean you say we have a top 10 talent roster yet score a single run against La Tech after getting our arse kicked by Ole Miss in a must win series.

I think this team would be the team we thought it was going to be if it were healthy. But it was the same story last year. And we lost the championship 2 years ago because of Walker's injury. I thought it was bad luck the last 2 years. At this point, I'm tired of just chalking it up to bad luck. You can't just lose every season because all your pitchers are hurt because of bad luck. Either train them differently or make them pitch if they aren't truly injured or recruit different guys who are more worried about winning than their future pro career or something. Because we can't win with the pitching staffs that have been available to us for the past 2 seasons...
And the offense sucks because they have no legitimate coach. That is 100% on Mainieri. He was not prepared to replace Cannizaro when he left. Our offense was rolling under Cannizaro-- and continued to in 2017 with those same players who had been coached by him. I don't know why he thought he could just promote some 30 year old former players with no coaching experience to be the hitting coach at the #1 program in college baseball. I get that there isn't a 3rd paid assistant. It sucks. It really does. But he should have never paid Cain until the 3rd paid assistant was approved. You can't have a wasted spot on the staff for a recruiter. Sure, those recruiting classes have been great. How is that paying off??? Baseball is more about coaching than recruiting, especially when the best recruits who are making it to campus are spending more time in the training room than on the field.
Until we get a legitimate hitting coach and our pitchers start to actually pitch, we will lose. I don't care who the head coach is.

Also as I pointed out in other posts, LSU has 20 pitchers on their roster yet we have nobody who is competitive in midweek games. HOW THE HELL DOES THAT FUKING HAPPEN?
Injuries & a short week
Did you want him to put Hilliard, Hess or Marceaux out there?
