that's capitalism, hombre.

There's a difference between raping customers on their new iphone, or their internet service, or cell phone plan simply b/c you can, and charging an ungodly amount for something that will literally save peoples lives. There was a time when people would discover things like this, win a Nobel, make a lot of money while remembering the most important thing is saving lives.
I'm all for people making whatever they can, but when it comes to healthcare in this country, they can all go suck a dick.

Just found out my kid needs to be in wheel chair for quite some time b/c of a hip condition he has. Get a prescription for the wheel chair and go to the place and they are talking about the chairs being $3,500-$7,000. I go look online and the same exact chair is $330 on Amazon. I"m not talking about looks alike, THE SAME EXACT CHAIR. So I can pay $500 in copays and own that chair after 10 months, or i can pay $330 to Amazon and own that chair. Why is the wheelchair manufacturer getting to pocket and extra three grand simply b/c i went through my insurance? That right there is the problem with this countries healthcare. We so often never see what the true cost of something is b/c we simply pay what the insurance tells us and they pay the rest, and our insurance rates just keep going up b/c every Tom Dick and Harry is out there taking advantage of how they price their services and products b/c they know the insurance companies will pay it.

When you buy from the amazon doctor you put the brick and mortar doctor out of business

This is exactly why we should socialize medicine.

Well your issue is with the insurance company, not really the wheel chair manufacturer.

I wholeheartedly agree there needs to be transparency in pricing though. It's getting there with prescription apps and coverage cost estimates, but it has a long way to go.
