But what about kneeling for muh anthem? That's way worse.

Are you fricking serious with this shite?
No kid growing up idolizes a paving crew worker and has his poster on his wall.
Pro athletes are public figures and held to a higher standard.

I think you’re bright enough to figure out all jobs aren’t created equally

They entertain us by playing football, that's literally all they do.

This is the most shel contrarian take of all time.
They are public figures. Companies give them endorsement deals to be the face of their product. Kids idolize them and emulate them in the backyard.
Yes, if you're a simpleton, all they do in your opinion is run around with a ball. You're either playing dumb or are dumb if you fail to see the impact pro athletes have on society especially young kids.

Requiring that you don’t beat pregnant women or break the arm of children is not “the highest standards”

So you think if Aaron Rodgers this offseason was arrested for a DUI or something along those lines, he should be treated the exact same way as the backup long snapper, right? Or, are we not going to be consistent?
Is this dude good enough to come in, make a difference, lead to more wins and thus more money for this organization? If yes, no brainer they should take him, even knowing about the video.

quote:You're missing the point. It's not the NFL team's job to draft/sign players based on the impact they have on young kids. It's a parent's job to parent a kid. It's the team's job to make moves that make money and lead to wins on the field. Disagreeing with that is...well, strange IMO.

Hey shel, we are talking about beating a pregnant women and then breaking that child’s arm a few years later. Stay on track

That's adorable.

Howwweeeeeeevvvvvveeeerrrrr,
After separating his sister and the woman, Simmons decided to go to ground and pound on the woman while she was turtled on the ground
The dude went to town on the "woman," and he went over the line, but unless you saw a different video than everyone else, it was definitely edited to make it look like he went from successfully pulling the woman off his sister to throwing jabs at her while she's in the fetal position.

I don't give a frick who it is or what position they play. I have no problem being consistent across the board.

Rodgers would have never made it to the league at QB if he had that kind of thing on his record. Teams are even more image conscious at QB.
But please, continue to tell me why a guy who has beat his unborn child and continued to injure that same child after birth deserves to play football but bringing up shite that doesn’t matter

This dude was taken but a QB who was billed as a top 5 draft guy and was still taken in the 1st round would never get signed by any team. Pretty sure you don't believe that, you're just oddly saying something absurd to try and prove your point.
quote:What's funny is the one guy just got drafted, so I'm quite literally correct.

If you are eligible to play, and a team wants you to play for them, you deserve to play.

And he was a kid still in high school too.
It sad that some of you that watched the video don't even consider his upbringing too, which likely heavily encourages stuff like this.
