Should be no major surprise, the most coddled, protected, wealthy, and privileged generation in the history of humanity thinks they have it the hardest.
OMG the new iphone costs $1000, that's so expensive, life is unfair.
SUCH PRIVILEGED ASSHOLES

Count me in the 30%
But let's not pretend that Boomers haven't made a goddamn mess of things.
Two things can be true at once.

Not more. But certainly different economic hardships

What's been lost is perspective.
"My rent is very high" is a different category of economic problem than "My kids haven't eaten this week."

I agree. Student Loan debt is also something completely foreign to older generations. So is demanding a degree for jobs that don't need one, unpaid internships, and shitting on the blue collar work force.
People aren't starving. And they have it better than ever before in America. But that doesn't mean it's easy by any means. There is a large gap between not being sure where your next meal is coming from and financial security.
A dual income working family making over 100,000 combined is struggling middle class in today's America. Sure, they aren't starving, but they are struggling.

Millennials are the generation most prone to be swayed by simple propaganda than any before.

The Reality: Researchers concluded, based on Zillow’s mortgage affordability index, Millennials are completely off base on this one. According to the numbers, a mortgage averaged 15.1 percent of a median income from 2008 to 2018, which is lower than any quarter going back to 1979.
Millennials, STFU about "affordable housing". Thank you.

You've never heard of the Cold War?

I mean I agree that millennials have their issues but doesn't the generation that raised the “coddled, babied, entitled” millennials have some culpability in how they turned out?

Exactly.

And 90% of those 70% are probably some self absorbed assholes

They have champagne taste on a beer budget. They need a severe reality bitch-slap after decades of coddling. They're used to living off mommy and daddy and for the first time in their lives they have to actually pay for stuff on their own, and guess what, shite is expensive. Welcome to reality, millennials.

100k combined is not struggling if you dont live in a stupid state like California or New York.
Problem is people want the nice car with the nice house and 3 fricking kids that play 9 sports.
That's not struggling, that's you living outside your means.

I was just thinking about this yesterday. The poor people in American still live a life of luxury compared to a large percentage of the world. It is all about perception and we as Americans have such a skewed view of the world and what it is and how it should be.

Most probably never had to get a job in their teenage years just to have spending money. They have never experienced real hardship and haven't had to go without.
Most of this is the fault of their parents.

This is the truth. Expectations have gone through the roof. Most college age people in this day and age think an upper class, luxury lifestyle is the 'norm'. They think a huge house, a luxury car, designer clothes, exotic vacations, and a 6 figure salary are just how life is supposed to be and it makes them feel like they are 'struggling' when they can't access those things.
I think the mass media age and the internet have contributed to this effect as well.
And of course, yes, plenty of blame to the parents who raised them so poorly.

30-40 years ago people had roommates or lived in dumpy starter homes, paid 17% interest, worked on their own cars, had patches on the knees of jeans, sewed at home, still had some outdoor clotheslines....bought Christmas toys on layaway..
And these kids think they've got it worse economically?
