Why Orgeron may succeed against Bama - And why Miles didn't

Why Orgeron may succeed against Bama - And why Miles lost 5 in a row.
Match-ups... Miles ran a pro-style offense. Nick's D destroys pro style offenses.
Now, Orgeron is bringing in the Spread/RPO AND with a QB who is a run-threat.
An article from Dec of 2015 is still relevant:
Nothing has changed. Bama still steamrolls teams with lesser talent - with the exception of Clemson who runs the Spread/RPO - Clemson has adjusted to Bama's powerhouse defense, and walked all over Bama in the Natty.
Looks like LSU has made the right adjustment also.

It's not just that LSU has lost five in a row to Alabama. It's that LSU's style is a terrible matchup against the Tide. Saban's defenses typically destroy pro-style offenses. Ole Miss's spread has won two in a row against Bama. Ohio State's and Oklahoma's versions of the spread have beaten Bama in the last two Sugar Bowls. Auburn gave Saban's defense fits when Nick Marshall was under center.
To move the ball on a Saban defense generally requires a no-huddle attack that prevents Saban from engaging in situational substitutions and use of the quarterback in the running game.

How'd his last two home games against Bama go again?

Me too, but I do believe Joe Brady is the truth.

I hope you’re right but you’ve got your facts wrong, Miles did beat Saban 3 times which is as many as anybody els since he arrived at Alabama.

How do we measure success for O? At this point kicking a single FG as time expired would be a success.

why Miles lost 5 in a row.
Better yet why has O, who was hired to do better than Miles, lost three in a row?

Then how did Miles' offenses manage to put up at least 13 points in four of his last five games?

Now, Orgeron
Mustered a total of 10 points in three combines games against Bama.

Nothing has changed.
Correct. O was hired to improve the offense and beat Bama and nothing has changed.

Just like every OC before him was the truth

0-5, 0-3; whats the difference? In two years, if the Orgeron era does indeed last that long, O will be 0-5 as well.

Is miles still the coach here? Why are you bringing him up?
Posted on 4/22/19 at 5:12 pm to Buckeye Jeaux
Yes he did but that’s not what you said in your thread title.

Hey Ree! See you’re still trying everything to keep your job. Most of us are sending messages to the ADs office to end this Alleva shite should his arse get stomped again and lost to TAMU. Two losses is not good enough to save his job. But don’t worry that’s not going to happen anyway he will lose 3 to 4 games this year. 2020 we will have a new coach.

Clemson isn't walking through that door.

quote:orgeron doesn't have to out-coach Saban - O has people for that. Brady/E has to field a solid Spread/RPO - I believe they will.
He won't out coach Saban, they are on different levels. If Saban retires and O is still coaching then for sure.
The Spread/RPO is Bama's Achille's heel. That's where you attack them.
